How to become a Skywarn Spotter

Are you ready to become an official Skywarn spotter?

To become a Skywarn spotter, you must be a weather spotter first and you will need to complete training in addition to the training you completed to be a weather spotter. This is how it will work:

  • Click on “Request Skywarn Training” button below to email us your mailing address.
  • A CD of Skywarn training will be mailed to you within 15 working days
  • View the training (a power point slideshow)
  • Take and pass our online Skywarn test linked from the CD (at least 80%).
  • Print your certificate of completion
  • Immediately fill out the Skywarn application
  • You will be a certified Skywarn spotter!

The personal information you provide us when you complete the Skywarn application will be forwarded only to Skywarn directors in our area, and not to anyone else, to protect your privacy.
